ABOUT
AMY NICHOLAS

Having the right team around you is an essential component to success, and we are lucky enough to have a multi-skilled team of designers and contractors, as well as an extensive list of high-end suppliers and tradespeople, to ensure our clients have a truly positive experience throughout the design and implementation process. Communication and building a working relationship with our clients is at the heart of our ethos; we want to get to know the where’s and why’s of a project and work with our clients to achieve this.

Creating a beautiful yet functional space is the cornerstone of our design process, and whilst a timeless outcome underpins our approach, we pride ourselves on our versatility and ability to create individual spaces tailored to our clients’ style and brief, whether soft and subtle, or bold and dramatic.

Individually our team have diverse and exceptional talents, but together this multi-disciplinary collaboration ensures we see all aspects of a project. Design is so much more than fabric and wallpaper (as deliriously excited as we get about these), so sourcing that perfect armchair, that optimum floor lighting and all those subtle aspects in between are absolutely key to achieving cohesion in a scheme.

We have developed and expanded over the years and are incredibly proud to be able to offer the ultimate in visual presentation - from high-end floor plans, to elevations and CGI, we bring your vision to life from the outset.

OUR HISTORY

It's been an exciting and often unexpected journey since the doors of Amy Nicholas Interiors opened back in 2005. With previous experience in the Audio Visual and Home Automation industry, Amy discovered her real “passion” lay in advising her clients on their interior schemes and spatial planning. Branching out on her own, first with an Interiors shop in rural Lancashire, then to the current Studio, Amy’s vision has developed with the times and expanded to where it is today – a high end design studio with clients ranging from luxury homeowners to boutique hotels, and from residential to retail.

Based in the Ribble Valley, with inspiring views over the countryside, Amy Nicholas has endured despite the inevitable trials and tribulations of running a company. The very welcome distractions of family life (a husband, 4 children and a menagerie of animals) facilitated short breaks in Amy’s full attention to the business, but with an experienced team and supported by her family, the company is constantly developing to offer a multi-faceted and innovative service.

Our enduring company ethos continues to be providing a professional and friendly service to our clients, offering the benefits of our substantial interiors experience and industry knowledge, in order to create extraordinary and effective spaces. Increasingly we also hold ourselves to high standards when it comes to environmental awareness within the businesses – whether it’s the supplies we order for the office, or the products we source and businesses we use for a project, we aspire to reduce our carbon footprint, whilst still ensuring the best in quality and design.

Not daunted by running one business, Amy took on a new challenge in 2018 when she began Tradescant & Son, our unique fabric and wallpaper company. Our UK made fabrics are printed on exquisite 100% linen and, together with coordinating wallpapers, sell to high end designers throughout the UK and internationally. The designs document our fascination with the natural world and each one is a statement on the beauty of nature with a quirky edge and a stunning colour palette. Cushions and Lampshades add an extra dimension to our brand and we are constantly working on new designs and items to enhance the collection further – exciting times…
